# Reviewing claims

> How to review, version, and archive claims in Adclear.

## Overview

Claims are substantiated marketing statements reviewed separately from promotions. They follow the same review workflow.

## Claim review actions

| Action | Resulting status | Notification sent |
| --------------- | ---------------- | -------------------------------- |
| Approve | Approved | Claim approved email to owner |
| Reject | Rejected | Claim rejected email to owner |
| Request Changes | Changes Needed | Changes requested email to owner |

After any action, you are assigned as reviewer on the claim.

## Assigned reviewer on claims

A specific reviewer can be assigned when a claim is created. The assigned reviewer receives the notification, and other reviewers with permission for the relevant market can still pick it up.

## Claim versions

Claims can have multiple versions. Comments are version-specific - V2 comments are not visible on V1. Use the version switcher to move between versions. Each shows its own data, status, and comments.

## Archiving claims

Claims can be archived by Compliance Admin and Marketing Admin users. If you need a claim archived and don't have those permissions, ask an admin to do so from the three-dot menu on the Claims page. See [How Roles Work](/how-roles-work) for the full permission breakdown.
