# Claims

> Create, link, and version substantiated marketing statements that can be used across promotions.

## Overview

Claims are substantiated marketing statements that can be linked to promotions. They go through their own review workflow, and once approved, they can be reused across multiple promotions without needing fresh substantiation each time.

Only Approved claims can be linked to a promotion.

## Linking a claim to a promotion

You can link an approved claim to a promotion in two places:

* During promotion creation, in the Linked Claims section of the new promotion form
* After creation, from the Info tab on the promotion page

## Creating a claim

  <Step title="Go to Claims and click + Add New">
    Fill in the claim name, content, jurisdictions, products, substantiation (files or URLs), disclaimers, and next review date. All fields are required.

  <Step title="Submit for review">
    Click Submit for Review from the Submit Claim page. The claim follows the same review workflow as promotions.
  </Step>

## Claim versions

Once a claim is approved, click + on the claim header to create a new version. The previous version remains accessible via the version switcher. Comments are version-specific.
