# Comments and collaboration

> Leave inline comments on text, images, video, and PDFs, and work with collaborators on a promotion.

Adclear supports comments on every asset type, attached directly to the relevant part of the asset (a passage of text, a region of an image, a moment in a video, a page of a PDF). This page covers the mechanics.

## Adding inline comments

Pick the asset type you're commenting on.

    Highlight any portion of the text on the Submit for review page. A `+` button appears next to the highlighted text. Click it to attach a comment to that passage.

    The text becomes highlighted and clickable in the right-hand panel. Click Locate in the right panel to jump back to any comment.

  <Tab title="Image">
    Click `+` to enter comment mode, then click the area of the image you want to annotate. A marker with your initials appears on the image, and the comment shows in the right panel.

  <Tab title="Video">
    Tick the timestamp checkbox on the video timer before sending. The timestamp is attached to the comment and a tooltip appears on the video timeline at that moment.

  <Tab title="PDF">
    Click `+` to enter comment mode, then click on any page to place a marker. Each comment is labelled with its page number and has a Locate button to scroll directly to it.

## @mentions

Tag colleagues in any comment using the `@` symbol followed by their name. They'll be notified and can respond directly in the thread.

## Collaborators

When a collaborator is added to your promotion, they receive an email notification and will receive review decision updates alongside you.
