# Variations

> Multiple linked promotions with the same core message, each reviewed independently.

## What it is

Linked but independently reviewable promotions. For example, the same ad sized for different channels, or localised for different jurisdictions.

Each variation gets its own approval decision, but they're linked so the reviewer can see the context.

## When to use it

* You have 10 emails you want to A/B test
* One banner localised for 5 markets
* Same core message adapted for different formats or audiences

## Common mistake

<Warning>
  Using Variations as a general grouping tool for completely different pages - such as a hub page and a separate product page. Variations are for the same promotion in different forms. If you just want to group unrelated items, use a tag instead.
</Warning>

## Feedback matters

<Tip>
  Apply comments and status decisions to each variation individually so Adclear can learn from each one accurately. See [Helping Adclear Learn](/how-you-help-adclear-learn) for more on why per-variation feedback matters.
</Tip>

## Marketing example

You've written 10 subject line variants for the same email send and you want to A/B test them. Each variant gets its own approval, but they're linked so the reviewer can see the context.
