Overview

Adclear’s affiliate monitoring tools give compliance teams and affiliate managers a structured way to track post-publication activity across websites and Discord channels. Once a promotion is live, Adclear continues to monitor it — checking for compliance issues, flagging deviations from Approved Copy, and building a full audit trail over time. This guide covers two core areas of the platform:
  • Monitoring — the operational workspace where post-publication checks are reviewed and managed.
  • Affiliate Hub — the affiliate-level view that surfaces key metrics and all monitored promotions associated with a specific affiliate.
Together, these tools support day-to-day compliance oversight and help teams identify issues before they escalate.
Affiliate Monitoring covers post-publication activity. Pre-publication financial promotion review (and the associated metrics) is covered separately — see Analytics Metrics for pre-publication metrics and the rest of this guide for post-publication monitoring.

Currently supported channels

Websites

A single URL or domain tracked over time. Each recheck creates a new version, giving you a full history of how content has changed.

Discord

Specific channels within an affiliate’s Discord server, with messages evaluated against Approved Copy.
🚧 INTERNAL DRAFT — placeholder for social media monitoring 🚧Social media monitoring is in active development. Before publishing this guide externally:
  • Decide whether to mention social media monitoring at all in the public version, or to keep this entirely internal until launch.
  • Confirm naming, supported platforms, configuration model, and how it will appear alongside Discord and Websites in the Monitoring area.
  • Confirm whether evaluation will follow the Approved Copy model or a different model.
  • Confirm timing language with product. Do not publish a target date.
  • Update this guide’s “Currently supported channels” section, the workflow sections below, and the Glossary once the launch shape is confirmed.
  • Internal point of discussion: how will affiliate managers configure social media monitors — by handle, by post type, by keyword? Decision needed before public release.

Intended Audience

This guide is written for:
  • Compliance managers responsible for reviewing flagged content and maintaining audit records.
  • Affiliate managers overseeing affiliate activity, tracking compliance rates, and managing monitor configurations.
No technical background is required. All tasks described here are performed through the Adclear interface.

Quick Start: Your First Ten Minutes

If you are new to affiliate monitoring in Adclear, follow these steps to get oriented quickly.
1

Open the Monitoring area

Navigate to the Monitoring section from the main navigation. This is your central workspace for all post-publication checks.
2

Review your active monitors

Scan the list of active monitors. Each row represents either a website or a Discord channel being tracked. Note any items showing a flagged or issue status.
3

Open a flagged item

Select a flagged monitor to open the detail view. Here you can see the evaluation outcome, the content that was checked, and any reasons it was flagged.
4

Open the Affiliate Hub

Navigate to the Affiliate Hub. Locate an affiliate to view their compliance rate, total monitored sites, and associated promotions.
5

Familiarise yourself with the key metrics

For each affiliate, note the three summary indicators: total sites, compliance rate, and average issues per site. These give you an at-a-glance health check.

Monitoring

What is Monitoring?

Monitoring is the area of Adclear where post-publication checks are carried out and reviewed. After a promotion goes live, Adclear tracks the associated content — whether on a website or in a Discord channel — and evaluates it against expected standards. Each monitor record represents a single tracked asset. For websites, this is one URL or domain. For Discord, this is a specific channel within a server. Every time Adclear rechecks a monitored asset, a new version is created, giving you a complete audit trail of how content has changed over time.

What You Can Do in Monitoring

  • View all active and inactive monitors.
  • Open individual monitors to inspect evaluation outcomes.
  • Review each version of a website check to see what changed between rechecks.
  • Identify flagged items that require attention.
  • Navigate directly from a monitor to the associated affiliate record.

Affiliate Hub

What is the Affiliate Hub?

The Affiliate Hub is the affiliate-level workspace within Adclear. It brings together everything relevant to a specific affiliate in one place: their profile details, key compliance metrics, and the full list of monitored promotions associated with them. Use the Affiliate Hub when you need to assess an affiliate’s overall compliance posture, investigate a specific affiliate’s activity, or manage the monitors linked to them.

Key Metrics in the Affiliate Hub

When you open an affiliate’s profile, you will see three summary indicators at the top of the page:
MetricWhat it shows
Total SitesThe number of website monitors currently active for this affiliate.
Compliance RateThe proportion of monitored content that has passed evaluation, expressed as a percentage.
Average Issues per SiteThe average number of flagged issues recorded across all monitored sites for this affiliate.
These metrics update as new checks are completed, giving you a live picture of the affiliate’s standing.

What You Can Do in the Affiliate Hub

  • View an affiliate’s compliance rate and issue trends at a glance.
  • Browse all monitored promotions linked to the affiliate.
  • Open individual monitor records directly from the affiliate profile.
  • Identify which sites or channels are driving the most issues.

Workflows

Website Monitoring

Website monitoring tracks a single URL or domain as one monitor record. Each time Adclear performs a check on that site, a new version is recorded. This means you always have a history of what the site looked like at each point in time.

Setting Up a Website Monitor

1

Open the Monitoring area

Navigate to Monitoring from the main navigation.
2

Create a new monitor

Select the option to add a new monitor and choose the website monitor type.
3

Enter the website details

Provide the URL you want to monitor and link the monitor to the relevant affiliate.
4

Save the monitor

Confirm the details and save. The monitor will appear in your active monitors list.

Reviewing Website Versions

1

Open the monitor record

From the Monitoring area, select the website monitor you want to review.
2

Browse the version history

Each recheck appears as a separate version entry. Select a version to see what was captured during that check.
3

Review the evaluation outcome

Each version shows whether the content passed evaluation or was flagged, along with the specific content that was assessed.
4

Take action if needed

If a version is flagged, use the review tools available within the version detail to record your assessment or escalate as appropriate.

Discord Monitoring

Discord monitoring lets Adclear track messages posted in specific channels within an affiliate’s Discord server. The system evaluates relevant messages against Approved Copy and flags anything that does not match.

Inviting the Adclear Bot

Before configuring Discord monitoring, the Adclear bot must be present in the affiliate’s server.
1

Share the bot invite link

Provide the affiliate with the Adclear bot invite link. They will need to accept the invite in their Discord server.
2

Confirm the bot is active

Ask the affiliate to confirm that the bot has joined their server successfully before proceeding with configuration.
The affiliate or their server administrator must have permission to add bots to the Discord server. Without this, the bot cannot be added.

Configuring a Discord Monitor

1

Open the Monitoring area and add a new monitor

Navigate to Monitoring and select the option to create a new monitor. Choose the Discord monitor type.
2

Enter the server details

Provide the following information about the Discord server:
  • Server ID — the unique identifier for the Discord server.
  • Server Name — the display name of the server, for your reference.
3

Enter the channel details

Provide the following information about the channel to monitor:
  • Channel ID — the unique identifier for the specific channel.
  • Channel Name — the display name of the channel, for your reference.
4

Add usernames to monitor

Enter the Discord usernames of the individuals whose messages should be tracked. Only messages from these users will be evaluated.
5

Add affiliate link patterns

Enter the affiliate link patterns relevant to this monitor. These are used to identify messages that contain affiliate promotions.
6

Save the monitor

Review all details and save. The Discord monitor will become active and begin tracking new messages in the specified channel.
You can find a Discord server’s Server ID and Channel ID by enabling Developer Mode in your Discord settings, then right-clicking on the server or channel and selecting “Copy ID”.

How Discord Message Evaluation Works

Once a Discord monitor is active, Adclear scans messages in the configured channel from the specified users. When a message contains an affiliate link pattern, it is evaluated against the Approved Copy stored for that monitor.
  • If the message content matches the Approved Copy, it is marked as compliant.
  • If the message content does not match the Approved Copy, it is flagged as an issue.
This evaluation happens automatically. You do not need to trigger checks manually.

Approved Copy

Approved Copy is the reference text that Adclear uses when evaluating Discord messages. It represents the exact wording that has been approved for use in affiliate promotions.

How Approved Copy Works

Once Approved Copy is configured, Adclear automatically scans every message sent by your monitored affiliates to check whether the approved wording is present. This means your compliance checks happen continuously and in the background — without any manual effort from your team. Any message that contains your Approved Copy is marked as compliant. Any message that does not include it is flagged for review, giving you full visibility over whether affiliates are sticking to the agreed wording at all times.

Setting Approved Copy for a Monitor

1

Open the Discord monitor

Navigate to the monitor record you want to configure.
2

Locate the Approved Copy field

Within the monitor settings, find the Approved Copy section.
3

Enter the approved text

Type or paste the exact wording that has been approved for this affiliate’s promotions. Ensure it matches precisely what affiliates have been briefed to use.
4

Save your changes

Save the monitor. The updated Approved Copy will be used for all subsequent message evaluations.

Reviewing Flagged Items

Flagged items appear in the Monitoring area whenever a check identifies a discrepancy — either on a website or in a Discord message. Review flagged items promptly to maintain an accurate compliance record.

Reviewing a Flagged Website Version

1

Open the monitor record

From the Monitoring area, locate the website monitor with a flagged status.
2

Open the flagged version

Select the flagged version from the version history to view the full evaluation detail.
3

Assess the issue

Review what was found during the check. Note the specific content that triggered the flag.
4

Record your review decision

Use the available review actions to record your assessment. This updates the version status and contributes to the audit trail.

Reviewing a Flagged Discord Message

1

Open the Discord monitor

From the Monitoring area, locate the Discord monitor with a flagged status.
2

Open the flagged message record

Select the flagged item to view the message content alongside the Approved Copy it was evaluated against.
3

Compare the content

Review the difference between what was posted and what was expected. Determine whether the deviation is significant.
4

Record your review decision

Use the available review actions to record your assessment.

Running affiliate monitoring effectively requires consistent habits. The following cadence is recommended for most teams.
  • Check the Monitoring area for any newly flagged items from overnight checks.
  • Review and action any flagged Discord messages from the previous 24 hours.
  • Confirm that active monitors are running as expected (no error states).
  • Review compliance rates for your key affiliates in the Affiliate Hub.
  • Identify any affiliates with a declining compliance rate or rising average issues per site.
  • Audit newly added monitors to confirm they are configured correctly, including Approved Copy.
  • Clear any backlog of unreviewed flagged items.
  • Conduct a full review of all active monitors — confirm they are still relevant and correctly configured.
  • Review Approved Copy for all Discord monitors to ensure it reflects the most current approved messaging.
  • Check whether any affiliates need to be removed or added to the monitoring programme.
  • Use the version history on key website monitors to identify any content drift over time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Monitoring is the operational workspace where individual checks, monitor configurations, and flagged items are managed. It is where you set up monitors, review outcomes, and work through the day-to-day compliance queue. The Affiliate Hub is an affiliate-level summary view. It shows you the overall compliance picture for a specific affiliate — their metrics, their monitored sites, and their associated promotions — all in one place.Think of Monitoring as the working environment and the Affiliate Hub as the summary and context layer on top of it.
Each website is tracked as a single monitor record. Every time Adclear performs a check on that site, a new version is created and stored. This means you can look back at any previous check to see exactly what content was present at that point in time.Versions are created automatically on each recheck. You do not need to take any action to trigger version creation — it happens as part of the normal monitoring process.
A Discord message is reviewed when it is sent by one of the configured monitored usernames in the specified channel and contains an affiliate link pattern that matches the patterns set in the monitor configuration.Messages from other users, in other channels, or without matching link patterns are not evaluated.
Once Approved Copy is configured for a Discord monitor, Adclear automatically scans every message sent by your monitored affiliates to check whether the approved wording is present.Messages that contain the Approved Copy are marked as compliant. Messages that do not include it are flagged for review — giving your team continuous, automated oversight of whether affiliates are using the correct language, without any manual checking required.
There are three summary metrics shown in each affiliate’s profile:
  • Total Sites — the number of active website monitors linked to that affiliate.
  • Compliance Rate — the percentage of monitored content that has passed evaluation. A higher rate indicates fewer issues.
  • Average Issues per Site — the mean number of flagged issues recorded across all of the affiliate’s monitored sites. A higher number here warrants closer attention.
These metrics are updated automatically as new checks are completed.
For most teams, the recommended approach is:
  • Daily: Check for newly flagged items in Monitoring and action them promptly.
  • Weekly: Review affiliate compliance rates in the Affiliate Hub and investigate any affiliates showing declining trends.
  • Monthly: Audit all active monitors, update Approved Copy as needed, and review whether the monitoring programme reflects current affiliate relationships.
Assigning ownership is important — designate a team member as the daily reviewer so that flagged items do not accumulate unreviewed.
