Overview
Every promotion in Adclear moves through a series of statuses as it progresses from creation through to a final review decision. Understanding what each status means — and who is responsible at each stage — helps both marketing and compliance users track content efficiently. Some statuses (Escalated and Reviewing Risk) are only available if your workspace has those features enabled. If you don’t see them, they may not be active for your organisation.
Status Reference
| Status | What it means | Who acts next |
|---|---|---|
| Draft | The promotion has been created but not yet submitted for review. Only the uploader can see and edit it at this stage. | Marketing user — submit when ready |
| Pending Review | The promotion has been submitted and is waiting for a compliance reviewer to pick it up. | Compliance user — open and begin review |
| In Review | A compliance user has opened the promotion and is actively assessing it. | Compliance user — reach a decision |
| Approved | The promotion has passed compliance review and is cleared for use. | No action required |
| Rejected | The promotion did not pass review. The compliance user’s comments explain why. | Marketing user — review comments, then create a new version or promotion |
| Changes Needed | The compliance user has requested specific amendments before the promotion can be approved. | Marketing user — make the requested changes and resubmit |
| Escalated | The promotion has been sent to a legal reviewer for input. (Requires escalations to be enabled in your workspace.) | Legal user — respond via comment |
| Reviewing Risk | A marketing user has escalated a Changes Needed decision to a risk acceptor (marketing admin) for review. (Requires risk acceptance to be enabled.) | Marketing admin — respond via comment |
Status Flow
A promotion typically follows this path:Statuses by role
What marketing users will see on their tasks
Marketing users see a promotion on their tasks when action is required from them:- Rejected — review the compliance user’s comments and decide whether to create a new version
- Changes Needed — make the requested amendments and resubmit
What compliance users will see on their tasks
Compliance users see a promotion on their tasks when it’s ready for review:- Pending Review (unassigned, or assigned specifically to them)
- Returned after escalation (Pending Review again)
