Overview

Every promotion in Adclear moves through a series of statuses as it progresses from creation through to a final review decision. Understanding what each status means, and who is responsible at each stage, helps both uploaders and reviewers track content efficiently.
Some statuses (Escalated, Reviewing Risk, and Risk Accepted) are only available if your workspace has those features enabled. If you don’t see them, they may not be active for your organisation.

Standard status flow

This diagram shows the path a promotion follows in a standard review cycle, including the reviewer-initiated legal escalation route.
When a reviewer escalates to legal, the promotion returns to the reviewer after the specialist has responded. The reviewer then makes the final decision.

Risk acceptance flow

This diagram shows the separate path when an uploader escalates a Rejected or Changes Needed decision for risk acceptance review.
Risk acceptance is a separate route from legal escalation. Escalated is initiated by a reviewer during review. Reviewing Risk is initiated by an uploader after a rejection or changes needed decision. See the feature catalog for full detail on both.

Statuses by role

What uploaders will see on their tasks

Uploaders see a promotion on their tasks when action is required from them:
  • Rejected, review the reviewer’s comments and decide whether to create a new version
  • Changes Needed, make the requested amendments and resubmit
Promotions in Pending Review, In Review, Approved, Escalated, or Reviewing Risk are visible on the Promotion Dashboard but do not appear on the uploader’s task list.

What reviewers will see on their tasks

Reviewers see a promotion on their tasks when it is ready for review:
  • Pending Review, unassigned, or assigned specifically to them
  • Returned after a legal escalation, Pending Review again, ready for the reviewer to make their decision
Promotions assigned to a different named reviewer will not appear in a reviewer’s task list.

What Uploader users with Risk Accepting permissions will see

Uploader users with Risk Accepting permissions see a promotion on their tasks when an uploader has escalated it for risk review:
  • Reviewing Risk, assess the uploader’s rationale and decide whether to accept or decline the risk
