Roles determine what each member of your team can see and do. Every person who joins your organisation is assigned a role, and that role decides which areas of the platform they can access (creating promotions, reviewing claims, managing the team).

What each role can do

The Compliance and External Reviewer roles do not grant access to every promotion. Reviewing is also scoped by the markets (jurisdictions) each person has permission for. External reviewers must also be explicitly assigned.
*Compliance reviewers need the relevant jurisdiction. External reviewers need the relevant jurisdiction and either a direct assignment or selection as a named candidate when the submitter applies a reviewer preset.

Choosing the right role

1

Are they external to your organisation?

Assign External Uploader if they submit their own promotions. Assign External Reviewer if they approve promotions your internal team submits. See External reviewer access for the reviewer setup.
2

Do they review submissions for compliance?

If they approve or reject promotions and claims day-to-day, assign Compliance. If they also configure your compliance rules and policies, assign Compliance Admin. Remember to add reviewers to the relevant markets so they can see promotions to action.
3

Do they handle escalated or legal issues?

Assign Legal. This is the only role that can resolve escalations.
4

Are they on the marketing team?

Assign Marketing for individual contributors who upload promotions. Use Marketing Admin for team leads who also manage members and need broader controls.
Roles can be changed at any time. If someone’s responsibilities shift, an admin with the right permissions can update their role from the team management area.

Frequently asked questions

Each member is assigned a single role at a time. If someone needs broader access, change their role rather than creating a second account.
Compliance Admins, Marketing Admins, and Legal can manage members and update role assignments. Compliance users can’t change roles or edit the team list.
Pick the closest match, usually one that errs on the side of less access. You can always upgrade them later if their work requires more permissions.
The Compliance role gives access to the review workspace, but the actual list of promotions they see is filtered by the markets (jurisdictions) they have permission for. Ask your site admin to add them to the relevant markets in team management.
No. They can create and submit their own work but don’t have access to internal settings, metrics, or other team members’ data.
No. They only see promotions that were explicitly assigned to them. They also need permission for the promotion’s jurisdiction.
