Overview
When Adclear AI reviews a promotion, it checks each claim the promotion makes against your approved claims for that promotion’s products, markets and communication type. A statement that no approved claim covers is raised as a claims finding. Often the promotion is fine and the gap is in the claim library: a matching claim exists but isn’t approved yet, it’s approved for other products or markets, or it hasn’t been added. In those cases you can fix the claim directly from the finding. The finding resolves once the claim library covers the statement, and marketing doesn’t need to change the promotion.Fixing a finding
When a library fix applies, a button appears next to Respond on the finding. Once the finding has a status reply, such as Status changed to To Action or Claim submitted for approval, the button moves to the latest one.
One fix resolves every finding on the promotion that points to the same claim. Every fix also links the claim to the promotion, so you can trace it back from the claim’s Linked Promotions.
If there’s no button, there’s no fix you can make from the finding. Respond to it as usual. This happens when, for example:
- the statement differs from an approved claim’s wording, so the promotion needs changing
- the matching claim belongs to another workspace, so it can only be changed there
- the matching claim is archived, deleted or has expired
Who can fix findings
The fixes you see depend on your claim permissions. See How Roles Work for which roles have them.
Approving is limited to the markets you review, as on the claim’s own page. For a claim outside your markets, Approve claim doesn’t appear, and a scope fix or new claim you make goes to a reviewer for approval instead.
After a fix
- A reply such as Claim approved, Claim scope extended or Claim added is added to the finding, linking to the claim version it approved. The link opens the claim in a new tab.
- The finding shows a Resolved status. You can still reply to it, but it no longer needs a response.
- A resolved finding counts as answered when the promotion is submitted for review.
Resolved is final
A finding resolves the first time a compliance reviewer approves a claim that covers the promotion after the review. That can be from the finding, or from the Claims page when the claim’s content has the same wording as the flagged statement. A finding also resolves when the claim is linked to the promotion after the review, or when a claim shared from another workspace is approved there, where claim sharing is enabled. Once resolved, the finding stays resolved. What happens to the claim afterwards, such as a new draft version, new wording, a narrower scope, expiry or archiving, is managed on the claim itself and doesn’t reopen the finding.Claims changed outside the finding
Adclear follows the claim library as well as the finding’s own replies:- A claim added on the Claims page after the review whose content has the same wording as the flagged statement (ignoring case, punctuation and spacing) is picked up by the finding. The finding offers Approve claim instead of Add claim, shows Awaiting approval while the claim waits for a reviewer, and resolves once it’s approved.
- A claim that’s only similar is offered as the fix, but never resolves the finding on its own: similar wording can still mean the opposite. Approve it from that finding to resolve it: the approval resolves that finding only, even when other findings point at the same claim, and the finding doesn’t show Awaiting approval for it.
- Library activity appears in the finding’s thread, where it falls in time, for example Claim #13 · v1 added in Claims by Jamie Lee or Claim #13 · v1 approved by Sam Patel. These lines aren’t comments: they show what happened to the claim and who did it, wherever it was done. Changes made from the finding itself appear as its reply instead.
- Add claim won’t create a second claim when one with the same wording was added since the review.
Troubleshooting
Add claim is unavailable when more than 50 findings share the same statement. Contact support if you need this.
